Digital Hanukkah Cards: How to Send an Animated Hanukkah eCard (and What to Write)
By the PixerInvite team · 5 min read · Updated 21 October 2026
A digital Hanukkah card is a link you send by WhatsApp, text or email that opens into an animated card with your wish, your photo or logo, and your name. It arrives instantly, costs nothing to post, and you can send a personal version to every family. Here's how, and what to write.
Why send a digital Hanukkah card instead of paper?
It arrives on time, wherever people live, and it can move — candles lighting, a dreidel spinning — in a way paper can't. You can also send it to fifty people in the time it takes to address one envelope.
What are traditional Hanukkah greetings?
| Greeting | Meaning | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Happy Hanukkah | — | Everyone |
| Chag Sameach | Happy holiday | Any Jewish holiday, including Hanukkah |
| Hanukkah Sameach | Happy Hanukkah | Hanukkah specifically |
| Chag Urim Sameach | Happy Festival of Lights | A warm, traditional touch |
What should you write in a Hanukkah card?
- "Wishing you eight nights of light, love and laughter. Happy Hanukkah!"
- "May the candles of Hanukkah brighten your home and your year."
- "Chag urim sameach — from our family to yours."
- "Sending warmth, latkes and love this Festival of Lights."

How do you send an animated Hanukkah card?
- Choose a design and add your name — or your business's logo — and a photo.
- Write your wish, or keep the one suggested.
- Share the link on WhatsApp, text or email — or make one personal link per family, so each card opens with "Dear Sarah & family".
On PixerInvite, Festival of Lights opens on a nine-candle menorah glowing in a snowy window, Blue & Silver on a gift box spilling dreidels, and Dreidel Spin on a spinning turquoise dreidel. Each can also be saved as a short video for WhatsApp Status.
When should you send it?
Before or on the first night — Hanukkah 2026 begins at sunset on Friday 4 December. A card sent any time during the eight nights is still on time.
Can a business send a Hanukkah eCard?
Yes — it's one of the most personal ways to thank customers in December. See Hanukkah greetings for business for wording.
