Save the Date Ideas for Indian Weddings (and When to Send Them)

Send a save the date 3–6 months before an Indian wedding — or 6–9 months for a destination wedding or when guests fly in from abroad. It only needs the couple's names, the dates, the city and "invitation to follow". The full invitation, with every function, follows 6–8 weeks before the wedding.

Creative save the date ideas
- A countdown link — a page that shows the date and a live countdown, which becomes the full invitation later. Guests keep the same link.
- A short video of the couple — 10–15 seconds is plenty for WhatsApp.
- A pre-wedding photo with the dates written in the couple's own handwriting.
- A calendar invite — one tap to add the dates to Google or Apple Calendar.
- For destination weddings — the city's landmark in the design, plus a note on the best airport.
